While reducing stress is a good idea, actually eliminating the cause of stress may be difficult. I cannot quit work and cause less stress. However, we can address the physical expression of stress to reduce the overall physical toll it takes on us.

Movement is a nutrient. It is absolutely necessary for a long purposeful life free of chronic health conditions.

Increase Activities of Daily Living

Maximize purposeful activity. Activities of Daily Living (ADL) or non-exercise activities are activities performed for life rather than fitness. Whether for travel, creativity, exploration, or occupational pursuits, these are imperative.

General Physical Conditioning

Many places in America were built for automobiles and not for walking/foot-traffic. It is sometimes necessary to supplement with 'workouts' to increase our activity level and keep the body in a healthy state.

Specific Conditioning

It is difficult to stay active if you are weak or in pain.

Training your body with specific directed programs to restore proper movement or to address specific health conditions keep us strong and healthy for an active life.

Recovery

Recovery is a specific form of stimulus that provides some of the benefits of an active life but actually promotes the restoration of the body without some of the forces present in high intensity activity.
